← Back to Gangotri Guide🗺️ Exploring the Gangotri Region
Gangotri is the gateway to some of the Himalayas' most dramatic landscapes. The region offers a remarkable range of experiences — from the sacred Gaumukh glacier (source of the Ganga) to the peaceful apple orchards of Harsil, and from wildlife in the national park to the forbidden beauty of Nelong Valley.
Most visitors spend 3–5 days in the Gangotri region. A Gaumukh trek alone takes 2 full days; combining with Tapovan adds another day. Plan ahead and carry the right trekking gear.
